Maytag Front Load Washer Door Lock

Front loaders have a locking mechanism to avoid opening the door during a washing cycle but occasionally this lock will be activated accidentally.

Pausing the wash cycle is how it can be disabled. If the door lock is defective the washer door will not latch properly.
