As there is a lot of prep work going into creating and prepping the glazes we only students to glaze their work during these sessions under the guidance of a teacher. Charlie obtained a bachelor of fine art at queensland college of art in brisbane with an interdisciplinary study of jewellery small objects whilst mieke studied her masters in fine arts ceramics at the australian national university in canberra. The pair have been teaching there since and in 2019 collaborated with pusher productions to create an online hand building course. The ceramic house is a large open warehouse studio conducting classes masterclasses studio sessions alongside a shop and cafe area.

The pair have been creating ceramics together under the collaborative name mas miek since 2010 and in april 2017 opened their dream studio space in newstead brisbane.
